Evaluasi Kerusakan Lingkungan Kawasan Penambangan Batu Pasir Tufaan di Kecamatan PrambananSleman regency is located at southern part of Merapi Volcano. This regency has big potential in mining sector, espicially sand, pebble-boulder stone, tuffaceous sandstone (white stone), clay material (for roof), andesit (for building material, etc. Along with increase of population and residence area, the necessity building material is increasing too. In one other side, mining activity has positive impact (like as develop economic matter of community and income local government); in other hand has negative impact (like as environment quality degradation). Base on state environment degradation model, generally environmental condition atundulating area in Prambanan district is classified medium damage (7 location) and classified damage (3 location). In order to mining activity isn?t degrade quality environment, we must more pay attention in soil management and land reclamation.environment degradation, tuffaceous sandstoneMardi Wibowo

Evaluasi Hasil Pembangunan Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah Domestik tipe Komunikasi di Jakarta PusatTo overcome the problem of the high pollution caused by domestic wastewater in the region of Center Jakarta, the Local Government, DKI Jakarta, has acted as a pioneer in the program of water and wastewater sanitation for villages with applying 37 units of wastewater treatment installation. The location of them are spread out in several Kelurahan, in Kotamadya Center Jakarta. These installations were built in 2000, but not all of those might not be operated properly.
Furthermore some of them are not seriously managed and the conditions are so bad that can not be operated well. Because of that, it is time to evaluate them totally. The evaluation is not only for the technical problem, but also for the feasibility factor in a certain social community. All of these have to be done in order to get the alternatives for solving this problem, especially in developing and constructing the communally domestical wastewater treatment.

Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Air Bersih Masyarakat Desa le Rhob dan Alue Mangki Kabupaten BirenAfter Disaster ?Tsunami? in Desember 2004, a lot of villages located at the beach and coastal area in Province Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam have been being in a very difficult condition. Many problems, especially the lack of clean and drinking water, have not been overcome yet. Ie Rhob and Alue Mangki are the 2 villages which have to be helped in order to get clean water supply for all of the residences living in the villages. Because of sea water intrusion, almost all of the shallow ground water can not be used as the good raw water for a simple water treatment installation. River Krueng Mane is the only one water resource which has a water quality suitable for the simple water treatment. The recommended water treatment processes are sedimentation, mixing, flocculation, coagulation, filtration and disinfection as the final process.clean water supply, raw water quality, water treatmentP. 425Pemanfaatan Limbah Tanaman Pisang Untuk Memproduksi Gula Melalui Proses sakarifikasiBanana is a major cash crop of the tropical region generating vast agriculture waste after harvest. The agrowaste including dried leaves and pseudostem after harvest was used as substrate for the release of sugars. Saccharification of banana agrowaste by cellulases of Trichoderma lignorum was investigated. The steam treated agro-waste yielded 1,34 mg/ml of reducing sugars after 24 hours fermented. The size of substrate affected saccharification where the smaller size (< 120 micron) yield more sugars. Maximum sugars were released at pH 6,0 whereas 40 0C was the optimum temperature. Thus, under these conditions the agrowaste left behind for natural degradation can be utilized affectively to yield fermentable sugars which can be coverted into other substances like alcohol.Banana agrowaste, Trichoderma lignorum, cellulases, saccDonowati Tjokrokusumo

Potensi Tumbuhan Liar Dari Lokasi Penampungan Limbah Tailing PT.Antam Cikotok Untuk FiteromendasiDetoxification of cyanide contaminated soils and waters with plants seems to be a feasible option in these decades. The plant types that are of particular interest for use as remediation are those that absorb, store and under certain circumstances, detoxify contaminants. Since plants vary in their ability to accumulate specific contaminants, it is necessary to identify candidate plant species that can both accumulate and tolerate the contaminants of concern at a given site. For this purpose screening appropriate plant species adapted to local conditions should be seriously considered. Therefore this study aims to characterized plants that grow under extreme contaminated media of gold mined sites i.e tailing dam that belongs to PT ANTAM Cikotok and to analyse the capacity of their potency as hyperaccumulator. The results showed that some plant species, which grow in the contaminated areas, indicated high tolerance and potentially affective in accumulating cyanide in their roots and above ground portions. Some of these plants are known as cover crops i.e Centrocema pubescens Beth and Mucuna purients DC. Other species are Chromolaena odorata (L.) R.M King and H. Robinson, Cleome aspera Koen ex Dc, Jussieua peruviana, Melastoma malabatricum Liin, Mikania cordata (Burm.f.) B.L.Rob, Paspalum conjugatum Berg that known as weeds and Solanum torvum Swartz that known as vegetable. As candidate species, these plants need to be studied integratedly and utilized as hyperaccumulators for cleaning up the contaminated sites.Plants, phytoremediation, accumulator, cyanide.Titi Juhaeti, F. 429Karakteristik Ekosistem Mangrove Pada Dua Cabang Delta MahakamThe change condition of Delta Mahakam marked by decreasing mangrove area caused by shrimp aquaculture development and high sedimentation caused by changing of land use in upstream. It will influence to mangrove ecosystem existing. Research of mangrove ecosystem characteristic has done in June 2003, on two branch of Delta Mahakam, at Muara Berau (northern area) and Muara Jawa (southern area), to recognize mangrove community succession and characteristic of sedimentation. Mangrove community determined by measuring the standing density of tree (? trunk > 10 cm), belt (? trunk between 2 ? 10 cm), and seeding (? trunk < 2 cm), sediment characteristic identified from content organic and component of fraction. Based on dominance of sand fraction (> 90%) on mangrove ecosystem show that sedimentation in Delta Mahakam was high, for other side the mangrove community show on succession level was marked by abundance of pioneer species, like Soneratia and Avicenia, and organic conten (5.4 ? 12.4 % dry weight) and C/N organik ratio was low (6 ? 7). Bruguiera sp., Ceriops sp., and Nyppa sp. was foud on rare number. Standing density of trunk of tree show on good community, although not too dense. Regeration level in Muara Berau seem better than Muara Jawa. The tree density influence to organic content in sediment. Delta, mangrove, sediment fraction, and sediment, organic.Lukman, G.Y. 432By Product Exchange of Seaweed Solid Waste for Mushroom MediaA laboratory experiment on utilization of seaweed-containing solid wastes as media for growing mushrooms was conducted by researchers from the Institute for Environmental Technology. The solid wastes were obtained from PT. Agarindo Bogatama, a food industry which produces jelly powder processed from seaweed of Gracilaria. The company generates 60 tones of solid wastes of seaweed per-day that contained 70% of water content. The solid media was used to grow Auricularia polytricha, Pleurotus astreatus, and Ganoderma lucidum. Some mixed media were prepared with the percentage ratio of sawdust to solid waste as 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100. After sterilization the media were planted with mushrooms and then were kept in incubator. After 28-day the basidiomas of G. lucidum was developed while P. astreatus appeared after 36-day of incubation. Both were grown on 100% seaweed media (using 100% sawdust media as a control). This very early results indicated that solid waste of seaweeds have an additional value which can be used as media for mushrooms plantation. Implementation waste to product as a part of cleaner production approach should be disseminated to the industries, especially SMEs like PT. Agarindo Bogatama, who are concern to the environment.Byproduct exchange, seaweed solid waste, mushroomsTitiresmi
Pengukuran Kawasan Industri Terhadap Konsep ECO Industri ParkScarcity of resources and environmental quality degradation stimulated government policy toward a new concept of Eco-Industial Park in managing and developing industrial estate in Indonesia. For applying the concept of EIP need conducted measurement of recent industrial estate status to EIP. This Article aim to develop a measurement instrument and to measure some selected industrial estates. Measurement using developed instrument indicate that most industrial estastes have low status. 436Distribusi Substrat di dalam Fixed Bed Reactor ( FBR )Fixed Bed Reactor was the biological wastewater treatment reactor that was one of the Cakung Slaughterhouse (RPH Cakung) wastewater treatment. Biological wastewater treatment process in principle was process use of the microorganism to degrade the wastewater pollutant, where the wastewater will be changed into gas and the particle bio-solid that enabled to be sediment. The capability of the microorganism degrading this pollutant was influenced by various factor, some among them were the distribution of the substrate (microorganism group) in the reactor. The distribution of this substrate could be known by measuring the value of pH and organic content as Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) or Total Solid (TTS). Considering the importance of the parameter then must be keep so that both of them, did not exceed limits that were allowed in the FBR operation. This paper was discussed by the condition for the distribution of the substrate in various hydraulic retention time (HRT). Analysis was held for the operation with the up-flow system. Results of the research could be known that the value of the pH and TS in various HRT relatively constant, that is between 6.93 ? 7.15 (for the pH) and 0.32% - 0.56% (for TS). This value is still in limits that were allowed. This showed that the FBR reactor had the good performance was inspected from the condition for the distribution of the substrate inside.Fixed Bed Reactor, biological wastewaterDjoko Padmono
Biogas Sebagai Energi Alternatif Antara Mitos dan Fakta IlmiahIn the year of seventienth where the energy crisis struck the world, the competing person looked for the alternative to energy change the source of conventional energy (petroleum). One of the topics that it was hoped became alternative was BIOGAS from the process of the anaerobic fermentation of organic matter either agricultural or food industrial waste. Several parameters were studied to prove that anaerobic fermentation of the solid organic matter could become the BIOGAS as alternative energy replaced petroleum. Currently these all ideas were remains at the myth completely. The reality from investigation of the technology degradation process /digestion of the organic matter by making use of this anaerobic fermentation system was only could be used as one of the waste treatment as the solving problem of pollution of the environment, with results of taking the form of BIOGAS that could be made use of as substitution energy for the waste treatment it self. In other words anaerobic fermentation technology of the solid waste was one of the solid waste treatments with minimal energy. Energy that was needed for waste treatment process will be produced from himself to substitute energy that was used from the network of the public (PLN). So as to be hoped energy that usually is taken from the national net (PLN) for the processing of waste could be reduced, and was subtituted with energy biogas that was produced by him.biogas, energy alternativeDjoko Padmono
Perbandingan Sistem Digester Anaerob Termofilik Satu dan Dua FaseAnaerobic digestion of organic waste has some advantages, namely the recovery of biogas as alternative energy source and the conversion of waste products to soil fertilizer. Compared to mesophilic digestion, thermophilic digestion offers advantages regarding the process performance and the hygienic aspect. Unfortunately, the process has generally not enjoyed a good reputation because of its poor record with respect to process stability. Two-stage anaerobic reactor system consisting of a hydrolysis reactor and a methane reactor is often used to overcome such instability problems. In this study, the two-stage anaerobic reactor system is compared to the one-stage anaerobic reactor system. This study shows that the two-stage anaerobic reactor system has more process stability, can be operated at much more higher organic loading rate, and need much shorter recovery time after a process failure.digester, anaerob, termophilic, one and two-stageMuhammad Abdul Kholiq
Pengaruh Pupuk Kandang terhadap Serapan Pada Tanaman Kacang TanahNaturally, the farm damage cure effect of heavy metal waste dismissal will need very long time, but with growing of knowledge and technology hence the damage cure acceleratable by passing input bacterium or bioremidasi into impure land. Organic materials in compost or cage manure have role of vital importance in influecing heavy metal availability in land.Organic manure usage can degrade heavy metal concent to of chromium at impure land until 67 - 68 %.The degredation of heavy metal concent in land have correlation to level of chromium concent to quiality of agro product and crop.Standard gyration quality of chromium concent range from 0,5 ppm - 1,0 ppm, while chromium concent in peanut crop > 0,5 ppm, so that is not peaceful if exploited for livestock food, but chromium concent at seed reside in below standard quality of competent so that to be consumed, however for certainty have to be seen other heavy metal concent (cadmium)heavy metal, organic meter, the farm quality productSudaryono
Kekuatan Bioremediasi Jamur Dan Biokonversi Limbah Pertanian Menggunakan Teknologi Budidaya JamurBioconversion technology of agricultural waste or biowaste has been known by industries as one of the technology that could provide or increase quality og fod through industrial food processing. However, some of people in Indonesia have not been realized that uneconomic values and unnutritious of agro materials could be converted into high value of food and feed, and also usefull material for soil conditioner which is improved soil health. In addition, spent mushroom substrate as a waste of mushroom production can be used for a stater material to remediate contaminated soil as one of the strong capability material for bioremediation technology for polluted environment. Therefore, this review would like to create some hopes for pheasant to covert some agricultural waste materials into useful materials toward poverty alleviation and sustainable community development as mentioned by millennium development goals. Through this application of bioconversion and bioremediation technology of agricultural waste which is ubicuitous in tropical countries like Indonesia, we do much more for environmental care and social welfarebioconversion technology, agricultural waste, healthy food, soil conditionerSabaruddin Wagiman Tjokrokusumo
