Instansi | Energy production and utilization in several Indonesia regions (Sumatera, Jawa, Kalimantan, and Other regions) are not balance. Jawa region has the highest energy demand, while Sumatera and Kalimantan regions produce the most energy. This situation causes variation on CO2 emission produced from energy production and consumption among regions. In Sumatera and Kalimantan regions, CO2 emission produced from energy production is higher than from energy consumption, because energy is not only produced to fulfill demand in their regions, but also to fulfill demand in Jawa and Other regions, as well as export commodity. On the other hand, Jawa region has the highest energy demand because it has the highest population and economic activity, while its energy production is low because its energy reserve is limited. Therefore, CO2 emission produced from energy consumption is higher than from energy production. While, CO2 emission produced from energy consumption is about the same as from energy production in Other region. |
