Hazardous wasteSetiyono

Upaya Mitigasi Pencemaran Laut dengan Artificial wetlandsIndonesia is an archipelago country which has coastline up to 81 000 km with rich and bountiful wetlands, especially coastal wetlands. Wetland areas estimated is more than 40.5 millions hectare, including mangrove forest around 6.3 millions hectare. As world environmental condition is degraded, Indonesia marine and coastal environments have been experienced degradation, especially mass fish killed incident quite often occurred in water environments due to eutrophiocation. This incidence has lead to productive coastal and marine environments to become hypoxia, means that this is a process of declining oxygen content in the water column due to organic matter or organic chemicals in water environment were accumulated in coastal and merine environments. Most scientist precited that this conditions was occurred because of mangrove forest was degraded and already convert to other uses, especially for shrimp pond produvtion and industrial development. World scientist has praised that mangrove forest is the place to be traditional shrimp pond location in years. Scientifically this traditional shrimp pond has praticed and applied ecotechnological approach for increasing stable shrimp production in Indonesia. However, this method has been changed lately for booming Indonesian shrimp export due to Indonesia economic development. Therefore, this paper proposed and elaborated the important and function of wetlands for not only economic development but also conserve and mitigate artificial wetlands ecosystem as a whole ecosystem for social, environmental and economic development in the future. This paper is also clarify the important of artificial wetlands in coastal and marine landscape.coastal wetlands, conserve and mitigate, Artificial-wetlandsSabaruddin Wagiman Tjokrokusumo
Dampak Lingkungan Penambangan Silikon Proses Pemurnian, Pabrikasi Sel/Modul, Pembangkitan ?.The most important part is manufacturing since PV modules are produced under very height energy consumption characteristic. Photovoltaic energy production is suppose to be an environmentally friendly energy system with no emissions and no waste production, clean and noiseless but ins important to ensure that manufacturing is not going to be more harmful for the environment than operation advantages. Then it is very important to know if the product is going to be economically and environmentally viable for the overall life cycle. For the manufacturing processes environmental impact, three different studies have been carried out: Energy Analysis, Energy Related Emissions Analysis and Material flow analysis.Operation. Advocates of renewable solar system argue that during operation the environmental impact of this technology is minimal in comparison with other form of renewable energies. Decommissioning. At the end of the lifetime of the modules, they must be dispose in a sensitive way. At the moment there are no many option for recycle the silicon wafer. Aluminum frames can be recycled separately in the same way as this material normally is, glass could be recycle if technologies would exist to separates the glass from the adherent EVA and other module components.environmental impact, Photovoltaic energy DecommissioningAbubakar Lubis
Pengaruh Pemberian Lapisan Lempung Terhadap Peningkatan Lengas Tanah Pada Lahan Marginal BerpasirVarious methods for water or soil humidity conservation include the use of chemicals (synthetic matter) and plastic or asphalt layer at certain depth under soil profile to hold irrigation or rain water entering into the soil to prevent rapid disappearance from root zone. The present study observed the role of fine texture soil (clay fraction) in increasing water capacity, and releasing power of water for the need of plantation in marginal soil with sand easily pressed structure, and sensitive to water and wind erosion. The study was carried out in Glagah Coast, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. The results conclude that the addition of 10 cm of clay layer at the depth of 20-30 cm may optimally increase the humidity of sandy soil.Clay fraction, water capacity, marginal soilSudaryono

Uji Tosisitas Air Limbah Penyamakan kulit Menggunakan Metode Penghambatan Pertumbuhan Lemna spVarious organisms, including Lemna sp., have been employed in the toxicity test of waste, soil, and water. In this experiment Lemna sp. were exposed to waste water collected from tanneries in Garut, West Java. The experiment system includes liquid medium (macro and micro salts of Murashige and Skoog), to which a series of concentrations of the pre-filter-sterilized tannery waste water were added aseptically. Aseptic grown Lemna sp. were placed on the medium in a density of 10 fronds per medium container. The system was then incubated for 7 days under continuous daylight fluorescent lamps and the number of fronds, fresh weight and chlorophyll content of the plants were determined. The results show that EC50 of the tannery waste water is 0.66% of waste water. The LOEC value is 0.1% and the NOEC value could not be determined but should below 0.1%. This experiment suggests that tannery waste water is dangerous to aquatic plants if it was discharged to public water body without appropriate pre-treatment.Lemna, waste water, tannery, EC50Budhi Priyanto
Pembangunan Lingkungan Yang HolistikEnvironment is now an important global current issue and as a factor that must be considered in the implementation of Indonesian national development. Entering globalization era, the condition of environment will be one of the parameters required for a country to be accepted in the world free trade community. Instead, a country with bad environment can therefore be charged for a penalty, such as a limited export quota. For that reason, starting now, Indonesia should improve their environmental condition by implementing a good environmental management in order to attain the standard of a good environment. If Indonesia cannot achieve this goal, Indonesia will be used by other countries as their big market, without the ability of Indonesia to export their products. If the standard has been fulfilled, Indonesia can be part of the world free trade community in which this is a benefit for Indonesia itself. Without lowering the pace of development growth, national development through holistic environmental management would be a proper program to implement. This program is considering the impact of development to the environment and this program was commencing by the Indonesian government since 1970. However, it seems that the holistic environmental development has not been running smoothly, especially at the soft sides of development, such as people awareness, environmental law, law enforcement, arbitrary committee, community development, environmental information including people rights to get those information, the role of non-government organization, etc.By considering the importance of environmental development in a holistic way to fulfill the globalization requirements, this paper would be focused on the factors that may inhibit the national development. Those are factors that affect sustainability of environmental functions. Solution to the problems may also generally be described.environmental management holisticAmita Indah Sitomurni
